Effective against fin ulcers and rot

Colombo Cytofex 250ml is specially designed to effectively treat skin ulcers and fin rot, common problems in ponds. Thanks to its advanced formula, it acts quickly to eliminate the responsible bacteria, allowing your fish to regain healthy skin and intact fins.

Treats hole disease and other bacterial infections

Fish with hole disease can quickly see their health deteriorate. Cytofex works by stopping the progression of this disease and other bacterial infections. Its natural components effectively penetrate the water to fight pathogens while respecting the overall health of the fish.

Natural formula with plant extracts

One of the great advantages of Colombo Cytofex is its 100% natural composition, including Tea Tree oil, known for its antibacterial properties, and extracts of Iceland moss and Pau d'Arco. These ingredients allow for effective treatment while minimizing risks to the aquatic environment and the beneficial flora of the pond.

Easy and versatile use

Cytofex is easy to dose and use, even for beginners. Its detailed instructions make treatment hassle-free, ensuring that each step is followed correctly. Whether you have a small pond or a large body of water, this product is suitable for all pond sizes and types.

Information on diseases treated by Cytofex

Bacterial diseases such as hole disease, skin ulcers, mouth mould and fin rot are often caused by the bacteria Cytophaga columnaris. These conditions usually occur when the protective mucus on the fish's skin is damaged, for example by rubbing, parasites such as argulus or other diseases such as white spot. The bacteria then colonise these weakened areas, forming circles which then turn into holes or red ulcers, after the dead skin has fallen off.

These infections manifest themselves in a variety of ways: white spots that look like fungus, red ulcers on the surface of the skin, compacted spots on the mouth (mouth mold), and damaged fins that hang in tatters (fin rot). Affected fish become listless and, if the gills or internal organs are affected, rapid death can occur.

Precautions for use

Warning:

This treatment is known to be harmless to aquatic animals such as frogs, salamanders, freshwater crayfish and snails. We kindly ask you to share your positive or negative experiences with us at www.colombo.nl or E-mail: info@colombo.nl

For pond fish only. Keep out of reach of children. Store in its box between 4 and 32°C. Do not inhale. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. If swallowed, seek medical advice immediately, with the packaging or label. This product leaves permanent stains on clothing and floors, among other things.

Effect on other animals: Pets and birds also drink pond water containing these products; it can be assumed that if fish swim in it, it cannot be harmful to animals that drink it. However, it would be more prudent to give water in a bowl to pets (dogs and cats) accustomed to drinking pond water during treatment.

Catabolism: Treatments administered to ponds will disappear on their own through natural processes such as oxidation and decomposition by bacteria.

Combinations: The effect of a combination with other products is not known. Administration of more than 2 preparations (in one combination) is at your own risk.

Instructions for use

UV lamps, ozone equipment, algae magnets and carbon filters should be disconnected up to 1 week after the treatment has been administered. For underwater filters or simple side filters that operate without oxygen supply: Thoroughly clean the contents of the filter in advance and put it back in place or filter the cotton wool. Leave the filter connected and clean it from time to time if necessary. For the development of the biological balance, it is recommended to completely clean the filter again 1 week after the last administration and add Colombo Fish Protect to the pond water.

Recommended dosage: Cytofex should be used for 3 consecutive days.

  • Day 1: 1 ml per 30 litres of pond water
  • Day 2: 1 ml per 30 litres of pond water
  • Day 3: 1 ml per 30 litres of pond water

A measuring cup is included in the package. Shake before use. Mix the product with water in a bucket or watering can. Then distribute the mixture over all the water in the pond. Do not filter with carbon or zeolite; UV lamps and equipment must be unplugged for up to 1 week after treatment.

Since the active substances in Cytofex are of natural origin, the biological dissolution of these substances may reduce the oxygen content of your pond. Therefore, ensure optimum aeration of your pond so that your fish have sufficient oxygen at all times; species such as sturgeons are particularly sensitive to this.
