Colombo Alparex 500 ml (for 10m3) is a powerful treatment designed to effectively eliminate external parasites and common diseases such as white spots and fungus in your pond fish , including Koi. Thanks to its fast-acting formula, it begins to neutralize pathogens as soon as it is introduced into the water, providing immediate relief to your fish. Simple to use and highly effective, Alparex is the essential ally for any pond owner who wants to guarantee the health of their fish and preserve the balance of their aquatic ecosystem.
Colombo Alparex is designed to target invisible parasites, such as Ichthyobodo, Chilodonella and Trichodina. These parasites, often difficult to spot with the naked eye, can cause severe irritation and infections in fish. With Alparex, these threats are neutralized quickly, allowing your fish to return to well-being in no time.
White spot disease is one of the most common and potentially dangerous diseases for pond fish. Alparex works effectively against this problem, eradicating white spots that appear as small spots similar to grains of salt on the skin of fish. From the first applications, the fish show signs of recovery.
One of the greatest assets of Colombo Alparex is its rapid action. Once added to the water, it immediately begins to target pathogens. This rapid intervention is essential to prevent the progression of diseases and ensure the well-being of the fish, reducing the risk of serious complications.
With clear instructions and easy dosage, Alparex is simple to use, even for novice pond owners. Its formulation is designed to be effective while remaining gentle on fish and safe for the entire aquatic ecosystem, ensuring uncompromising protection.
Information on diseases treated by Alparex
White spot disease, caused by Ichthyophthirius multifillis, mainly affects weakened fish, often after stress such as transport or water changes. It appears as small white spots on the skin of the fish, which then rub against plants or stones and show signs of restlessness. If the disease progresses, it can cause significant skin loss or affect the gills, leading to asphyxiation and death of the fish. Fungal infections, often caused by the fungus Saprolegnia, appear as cottony balls on the skin or gills and can invade deeper tissues, causing serious damage.
Itchy skin can be a sign of various parasites such as Trichodina, Ichthyobodo and Chilodonella, as well as skin and gill worms. These parasites weaken the fish's protective mucus barrier, opening the way for other infections, including bacterial ones. Affected fish, especially in spring when temperatures rise, secrete excess mucus, which makes their skin gray-white and their breathing faster. If the condition worsens, red spots and swelling of the gills may appear, and the fish become listless. Morenicol Alparex is recommended to combat these parasites, while Morenicol Cytofex can be used for severe bacterial infections. If symptoms persist, the use of Lernex or Lernex Pro is recommended to treat specific worms and other parasites.
Warning:
Alparex must not be used in combination with Flubendazole or related substances. Wait at least 4 weeks and change at least 25% of the water before using Alparex if the pond has been treated with Flubendazole or related substances. This treatment is known to be harmless to aquatic animals, such as frogs, salamanders, freshwater crayfish and snails. We kindly ask you to let us know your positive or negative experiences at www.colombo.nl or E-mail: info@colombo.nl
For pond fish only. Keep out of reach of children. Store in its box between 4 and 32°C. Do not inhale. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. If swallowed, seek medical advice immediately, with the packaging or label. This product leaves permanent stains on clothing and floors, among other things.
Effect on other animals: Pets and birds also drink pond water containing these products; it can be assumed that if fish swim in it, it cannot be harmful to animals that drink it. However, it would be more prudent to give water in a bowl to pets (dogs and cats) accustomed to drinking pond water during treatment.
Catabolism: Treatments administered to ponds will disappear on their own through natural processes such as oxidation and decomposition by bacteria.
Combinations: Between the administration of Alparex and FMC-50 there must be a period of at least 2 weeks. The combination with other products is your own responsibility!
The Alparex product must be administered in two stages:
A measuring cup is included in the package.
In some cases, sturgeons tolerate Alparex less well, but on the other hand, due to their very thick skin, they are less sensitive to the parasites against which Alparex is active. We therefore advise you not to treat sturgeons with the others, but to treat them separately by administering only half a dose (twice 1 ml for 80 ml of pond water instead of twice 1 ml for 40 ml). If necessary, this treatment can be repeated a third time, on the third day.
Mix the product with water in a bucket or watering can. Then spread the mixture over all the water in the pond. Do not filter with carbon or zeolite; UV lamps and equipment must be unplugged for up to 1 week after treatment.
