Seachem Purigen is the most remarkable synthetic adsorption resin because it cannot be compared to any other existing product. It is not a mixture of ion exchangers or conventional adsorbents but a unique macroporous synthetic polymer that removes soluble and insoluble impurities from water at a rate and capacity that exceeds all other products by more than 500%. Purigen removes a wide range of organics, proteins, ammonia, nitrites, nitrates but its impact on trace elements is minimal. It increases the redox significantly. It clarifies and gives the water an unequaled transparency.

Instructions for use:

  • Rinse before use. Use in a fine mesh filter bag.
  • 1L treats up to 4000L (1000 gallons) for up to six months Purigen turns brown or black when the adsorption capacity is exhausted and can then be easily regenerated with ordinary bleach. A 100ml filter bag will purify and clarify up to 400 litres of fresh or salt water for 6 months.

Regeneration:

  • Soak in a mixture of bleach and water (1 to 1) for 24 hours in a non-metallic container in a well-ventilated area away from children. Rinse well, then soak for 8 hours in a solution containing 2 tablespoons of Chlorgard equivalent per cup of water. Rinse well.
  • The original color and full activity should be restored and Purigen is ready for reuse.

Attention :

  • Some mud coating products can permanently clog Purigen and make regeneration difficult. Do not reuse if chlorine odor is detectable. If in doubt, soak beads in a small amount of water and test for residual chlorine with a chlorine test.
