For rapid reduction of very high phosphate levels
Too high a phosphate concentration in the water often leads to slow growth of corals and aquatic plants as well as annoying algae growth. Thus, it is advisable to regularly monitor the concentration of phosphates in the aquarium in order to maintain it in an optimal range and adapted to the different organisms. In reef aquariums, this optimal range of phosphorus levels is between 0.02 to 0.05 mg/l. When the phosphate level in the aquarium has increased through the addition of food, nutrients or coral cuttings, it is sometimes necessary to quickly reduce the phosphate concentration to keep it within the recommended range.
Tropic Marin ® ELIMI-PHOS RAPID is a very effective solution based on lanthanum, which binds phosphates very quickly and thus removes them from the water effectively. The phosphate concentration can thus be reduced to levels of 0.1 mg/l in the shortest possible time. The water quality improves rapidly, which gives the corals a new shine and promotes their growth.

500 ml ELIMI-PHOS RAPID binds about 5 g of phosphates, i. e. adding 25 ml to a 250 l aquarium reduces the phosphate concentration by up to 1 mg/l.
Measure the phosphate concentration in your aquarium and calculate the necessary quantity of ELIMI-PHOS RAPID. We recommend reducing the phosphate concentration by no more than 0.5 mg/l per day. Thus, for example, a maximum of 5 ml of ELIMI-PHOS RAPID should be added per day per 100 l. Every body needs small amounts of phosphates. A decrease in the phosphate level to 0.00 mg/l is therefore not indicated and this should be taken into account when using ELIMI-PHOS RAPID. In saltwater aquariums, the target phosphate level is 0.02-0.15 mg/l, in reef aquariums a level of 0.02 – 0.05 mg/l is considered optimal .
Reducing the phosphate content is easier in ponds equipped with a skimmer or fitted with a rapid filter which completely eliminates the flocculated phosphates from the system. Please also check the carbonate hardness. The use of ELIMI-PHOS RAPID may, in some cases, cause a slight drop in carbonate hardness. In this case, the carbonate hardness should be brought back to its initial value using the TRIPLE-BUFFER product from Tropic Marin ® .
For lasting stabilization of the phosphate level at a low level, we recommend the use of the proven device, the Tropic Marin ® ELIMI-PHOS Longlife phosphate absorber.
