TUNZE - DOC Skimmer 9012 DC Hub Edition

The Comline® DOC Skimmer 9012 is a powerful internet skimmer designed for mixed marine aquariums and soft coral aquariums from 200 to 1200 litres, as well as for hard coral reefs up to 500 litres . Based on TUNZE® “Flash Skimming” technology, it sucks water from the surface to remove the oily film, allowing it to operate autonomously in the aquarium. Its TUNZE® Foamer produces a large quantity of fine air bubbles, with a diameter of 0.1 to 0.3 mm, with very quiet operation. Silicone silent blocks prevent the transmission of vibrations to the aquarium walls. The device is supplied ready to use with a magnetic holder compatible with glass up to 15 mm thick.

TUNZE® HUB EDITION

The TUNZE® HUB EDITION pumps feature electronic control via their controller, including a Fish Care function. They use the Turbelle® Controller 7020 to adjust the flow rate and connect to the TUNZE® HUB. This cloud solution allows clear control and regulation of various TUNZE® devices as well as other brands via WiFi and the Internet. In addition, an integrated real-time clock prevents time differences in the event of a power failure.

What is Flash Skimming?

The "Flash Skimming" concept ensures efficient foam production and optimum output. Its operation is based on a process where surface water, rich in proteins, is mixed with air by the TUNZE® Foamer. The substances to be removed, such as proteins, cellulose and dead cells, instantly attach themselves to fine air bubbles with a diameter of 0.1 to 0.3 mm. The air-water mixture then goes through an expansion phase and stabilises in the skimmer body. The purified water returns to the aquarium, while the bubbles loaded with waste are directed to the collection cup. The patented Anti Overfoaming System, thanks to its treatment chamber, prevents any overproduction of foam and adjusts the performance of the device according to the water level and the organic load. Unlike larger models or those requiring a long contact time, the skimmer using "Flash Skimming" technology offers high efficiency while avoiding the release of proteins. The particles trapped by the air bubbles are not returned to the aquarium water.
