The Tropic Marin ® Tropic Marin Test allows the control of the pH value thanks to a precise palette of colors (pH ranging from 7.4 to 9.4).
For determining the pH value in seawater aquariums
The pH value or the degree of acidity indicates whether a water is acidic or basic (alkaline). Pure water is neutral and has a pH value of 7. If acid constituents predominate, the pH value decreases (pH < 7). On the other hand, if the basic components predominate, the pH value increases (pH > 7). Many organisms are extremely sensitive to large fluctuations in the pH value.
In saltwater aquariums, the optimum pH value is, as in the oceans, between 8.0 and 8.5. It is imperative to avoid any strong variations, or drop or excessive increase of the pH value. The degree of acidity in the pool must therefore be checked regularly.
The pH reagent of the Tropic Marin ® test, developed especially for seawater, allows control of the pH value thanks to a precise palette of colors (pH ranging from 7.4 to 9.4).
• | Seawater measuring range: pH 7.4 to 9.4 |
• | Accuracy: 0.2 – 0.3 |
• | For determining the pH value |
• | Quick and easy: just add 1 drop of reagent per measurement |
• | Sufficient for about 100 applications |
• | Allows control of the pH value thanks to a precise palette of colors |
1. | Before use, shake the dropper bottle well! |
2. | Rinse the glass bowl several times with tap water, then with aquarium water. |
3. | Using the dosing syringe, precisely pour 5 ml of aquarium water into the glass bowl. |
4. | Add 1 drop of pH test reagent, close the glass cuvette with the stopper and briefly shake the solution. |
5. | Place the glass cuvette on the white inner circles of the color card and compare it to the surrounding color fields. To do this, look into the open bowl from above. |
6. | Read the pH value under the corresponding colored area. |
7. | After the measurement process is complete, rinse the glass cuvette and syringe thoroughly with tap water. |
