Why use Bio-strontium?

For the growth and well-being of reef-building corals, an adequate supply of strontium is just as important as the availability of calcium and magnesium. Although strontium is present in seawater in considerably lower amounts, biological processes, precipitation, and incorporation into the calcium skeleton can still lead to strontium deficiency.

What are the ingredients ?

Strontium, calcium and sodium salts, bicarbonate, trace elements.

Dosage:

Sprinkle the Tropic Marin ® Bio-Strontium evenly distributed on the surface of the water or in the filter tank and mix well. Undissolved crystals should not fall on the corals. One level measuring spoon (5 ml) per 100 L corresponds to an addition of approx. 5 mg of strontium per litre. The concentration is in nature 8 mg/l.

Recommended basic dosage: 1 measuring spoon (5 ml) for 200 L every 2 weeks. In case of very high population, the dosage can be doubled.

Caution: A very strong overdose can damage organisms. In the event of a high dosage, it is essential to check the strontium content.

Tip: To improve the light adaptation and coloration of floral animals, especially stony corals, we recommend iodine supplementation with Tropic Marin ® Iod.
