Parameters of tropical water: slightly acidic pH and low carbonate content.

The art of gardening under water:

Aquascaping refers to the technique of landscaping in aquariums. It can be very original compositions of plants, reproductions of an earthly landscape or natural biotopes. An aquascaping aquarium contains few fish and invertebrates or none at all. The supply of nutrients for the plants is therefore less important and their growth is limited. Nitrogen, phosphorus and other minerals become scarce commodities and targeted refertilization becomes necessary. For healthy growth in a beautiful underwater landscape, plants need adequate light, CO2 and nutrients.

Especially for shrimp aquariums:

ProScape floors are particularly suitable substrates for aquarists. The substrates are not inert to water, on the contrary they have a softening effect. They make the water less hard and slightly acidify it when the pH moves into a slightly acidic range. JBL Plant Soils are nutrient-dense to instantly deliver nutrients and minerals to plants, while Shrimp Soils are nutrient-poor but still phytonutrient-rich.

Use :

Promptly rinse the substrate with tap water to avoid wear during transport. To prevent mineral buildup in the water, change the water percentage every 2-3 days for the first two weeks after filling. Since the effect on water parameters is a function of initial and exchange intervals, the effect diminishes over time.

Calculation formula for the right amount of substrate: length (cm) x width (cm) x height (cm): 1000 = liters of JBL ProScape ShrimpsSoil.
