Its appearance is best suited to planted aquariums, but you can use it in any aquarium environment. Flourite® Black Sand is most effective when used as the sole planting medium, but you can mix it with other gravels. Amendments such as laterite are not necessary. Flourite® Black Sand is not chemically treated or varnished and does not alter the pH of the water.
To determine the number of bags required for your aquarium, please note that each bag (3.5 kg, 7.7 lbs) occupies a volume of approximately 2,750 cm3 (160 in3). To determine the desired volume, multiply the width of the tank by the length, then by the desired depth.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE: Although pre-washed, Flourite® Black Sand can become dirty during transport since it is a natural product. It should be rinsed before use to remove all dust residue.
