The new Tropic Marin ® Syn-Biotic Sea Salt contains probiotic bacteria for fish and shrimp, and prebiotic food to promote probiotic bacterial growth and create low nutrient conditions in the aquarium for LPS and SPS corals. The term "synbiotic" refers to the combination of probiotic bacteria and prebiotic substances that act in synergy.
Syn-Biotic Sea Salt is ideal for setting up a new aquarium as well as for any expansion of the stand. Probiotic bacteria have a proven positive effect on the health and well-being of fish and shrimp, especially in overcoming stress and disease. For optimal acclimatization, the aquarium should have a water change with Syn-Biotic Sea Salt prior to the insertion of new animals.

The prebiotic additives contained promote the integration of nitrates and phosphates into the bacterial mass for low nutrient conditions and the bright colors of LPS and SPS corals. For long-lasting acclimatization of animals to aquarium conditions and to stabilize the microbiology of the aquarium system, we recommend using Syn-Biotic Sea Salt permanently. Each water change with Syn-Biotic Sea Salt automatically adds the probiotic bacteria needed to maintain healthy biological processes.

To obtain a salinity of 32 to 35‰ (practical salinity unit), dissolve 35 ml (approx. 37 to 40 g) of Tropic Marin ® Syn-Biotic per liter of water in a container while stirring. The relative density of the saline solution should be between 1.025 and 1.027 at a temperature of 25°C. The sea water thus obtained can be used as soon as the salt is completely dissolved.

Note: Always add sea salt to water, not the other way around. When measuring the salinity of freshly prepared seawater using Syn-Biotic salt with a conductivity meter, a salinity of approximately 10% below reality is measured. We recommend measuring specific gravity using the Tropic Marin ® hydrometer.

It is normal for sea water to become slightly cloudy, indicating that the synbiotic substances are working. Stable biological conditions for the maintenance of delicate marine organisms appear only a few weeks after the installation of a new aquarium and with water mixing and under lighting. A weekly partial water change with Tropic Marin ® Syn-Biotic up to 10% helps maintain the quality of water your pets will thrive in.
