Phos-feed 300g from Tropic Marin adds phosphate microparticles to the reef aquarium , which are filtered out of the water directly by the corals.
Phosphate is one of the nutrients with high consumption and often low availability in the reef aquarium as well as in unpolluted natural coral reefs. Phosphate is essential in many growth processes of coral skeleton and tissue.
In the natural coral reef environment, particulate excreta from fish and plankton provide corals with essential phosphate for metabolism and growth. These particles can very easily be filtered out of the water and used by the corals. Tropic Marin ® has applied this knowledge in a brand new product, Tropic Marin ® Phos-Feed, for the regular phosphate supply of reef aquariums.
Tropic Marin ® Phos-Feed is based on the natural phosphate supply mechanisms observed in the environment of wild coral reefs. Now, for the first time in your reef aquarium, phosphate is dosed in a targeted manner, without continuously increasing phosphate concentration of the water column. Consequently, the growth of corals is stimulated and the corals exhibit natural cycles of skeletal development and vivid colors, similar to the intact coral reef under natural conditions. Insoluble particulate phosphates are the most efficient way to deliver this essential nutrient to corals.
Targeted application, optimal dosage control and maximum effectiveness thanks to the use of insoluble particulate ingredients. Inspired by the best natural organic principles.
Powdered phosphate minerals, trace elements (iodide, fluoride and bromide), passive ingredient: Pro-Reef Sea Salt
Application: Tropic Marin ® Phos-Feed can be added at any time of day or night. As the application slightly clouds the water and to take advantage of the nocturnal opening of the coral polyps, Tropic Marin ® Phos-Feed should preferably be applied when the lights are switched off. The temporary turbidity that forms is normal. The water is particularly clear after the turbidity. Half fill a container with approximately 200ml of reverse osmosis water and add the calculated amount of Tropic Marin ® Phos-Feed. Mix powder and water and shake well. Pour the suspension into the aquarium stream and rinse the beaker with aquarium water.
Dosage: Start with a daily dosage of 1 ml (small measuring spoon) of Tropic Marin ® Phos-Feed per 200 l of aquarium water. If, after four weeks, a phosphate concentration between 0.05 ppm and 0.15 ppm is not reached in the aquarium, double the dosage to 2 ml (large measuring spoon) per 200 l. We recommend not to exceed a maximum dosage of 4 ml per 200 l.
