The next generation of innovative LED lighting from CoralCare has arrived. The CoralCare Gen2 offers a new slimmer design, with passive cooling and wireless control. Additionally, we have refined the light spectrum and distribution to create a more natural reef appearance and to promote coral growth.

Excellent coral growth and natural looking reefs

Let life flourish with a wide spectral range. Good lighting is one of the key aspects when maintaining a marine aquarium with corals and reef fish. Corals need the correct light intensity and spectral content to grow efficiently, but reefers also require consistent color rendering in order to enjoy the bright colors of corals. The Philips CoralCare spectral distribution is designed to achieve an ideal balance between these two criteria.

With the CoralCare Gen2, we have further optimized the light formula to improve natural color rendition in daylight settings and maximize coral fluorescence in evening settings. The new Gen2 design features 68 state-of-the-art LEDs , intelligently grouped into two separate user-controlled channels. This allows you to control a wide range of color points (from natural white to saturated blue) without ever worrying about harming your corals with the wrong spectral content.

Patterns of natural light

Just like with CoralCare Gen 1, the light is evenly mixed and distributed thanks to the optical guide and the diffused glass plate. We've refined this with CoralCare Gen 2 by grouping the LEDs into triangular clusters and adding four neatly placed clear areas within the glass plate.

The placement of the clusters is deliberately chosen to create subtle yet natural patterns of light in the water. Clear areas of the glass plate add additional dynamic light effects when warm natural color dots are selected. This mimics the patterns seen on the ocean floor at noon when the sun is at its highest point. During the evening, when points of bluish color are selected, this dynamic effect fades as it does in nature.

This architecture results in an ideal balance between efficiency, uniform distribution of light in the aquarium, color homogeneity and a good level of light dynamics.

Easy to control and install

Your CoralCare Gen2 LED fixture can be controlled wirelessly using your mobile device or PC. Plus, it includes a 0-10V port so you can connect the light to third-party aquarium controllers like HYDROS Control 4, Neptune Systems Apex, and GHL ProfiLux. Additionally, the new controller is also compatible with CoralCare Gen1 devices.

Choose from user-friendly pre-programmed lighting schedules or easily create a custom 24-hour lighting schedule to meet your coral needs. You can even share your light schedules with other reefers!

Direct control is also available for maintenance or checking your reef dwellers. There is an acclimatization phase for introducing new corals or installing new CoralCare lights, allowing you to gradually increase the light intensity to meet your corals needs. The single box system (with integrated drivers) also includes a hanging kit for quick and easy installation with adjustable height and positioning.
