MAINTENANCE AND USE

Proper care of your pH and ORP probes will give you fast, accurate results for longer. pH and ORP probes are similar in design, but there are some differences.
pH probes have a sensing bulb that loses its sensitivity over time. All pH sensors have a limited life span and response time becomes longer with age.
ORP probes typically have a platinum electrode instead of a glass bulb. This electrode has a longer life but can accumulate residue that affects response rates and accuracy.
Both electrodes have a reference junction that can become clogged, which can cause slow and inaccurate results. Cleaning and keeping the probe hydrated helps prevent this problem.

Here are our top four tips for your pH probe.
1. Always keep the cap filled with buffer solution or storage solution and not water.
2. Clean your probe regularly by soaking it in a cleaning solution.
3. Calibrate after cleaning and/or storage prior to testing to adjust for changes in the pH sensor.
4. Gently swirl the probe in the sample for faster results.
ORP probe
Here are our top three tips for your ORP probe.
1. Always keep the cap filled with buffer solution or storage solution and not water.
2. Clean your probe regularly by soaking it in a cleaning solution.
3. After cleaning, place the ORP probe sensor back into the tank.
Thank you for choosing Milwaukee to help take your results to the next level.
