Milwaukee 's MC120 is a high-end pH monitor that offers lab-grade accuracy with easy-to-view continuous monitoring of pH levels with alarms.
Quick and easy to read results with a large digital LCD display. Accuracy of ±0.2 pH with a full range of 0.0 pH to 14.0 pH. Set point range of 5.5 to 9.5 pH with alarm activated when reading is above or below set point. Lab-grade probe included, double-junction, and gel-filled for low maintenance.
pH meters usually start to give poor results because of problems with the probe. The two parts of the pH probe that cause problems are the glass sensing bulb and the reference junction.
The glass bulb loses its sensitivity with use and eventually breaks down. This is true for all pH probes.
The reference junction is a small assembly that allows the counter to compare the sample to a reference. The reading is generated based on the electrical difference between the sample and the reference. If the junction hole becomes clogged, the pH electrode will no longer function. You can extend the life of your pH electrode in the following ways.
The pH probe must be kept hydrated. Long periods of dry storage will damage the sensitivity of the probe. Allowing the lead to dry out may also cause the junction hole to become clogged. Storage in pH probe storage solution or pH calibration buffers solves both of these problems. Do not store in tap water and DI water. This will damage the sensitivity of the probe. The best way to store the probe is to fill the probe cap with storage solution or calibration buffer and tighten the cap to prevent leaks. It is also recommended to store the electrode in an upright position to further reduce the risk of leakage.
Sample residue can impact the sensitivity of the detection bulb and clog the junction. This is especially true if the sample contains a lot of organic matter. We recommend regularly dipping the probe in a cleaning solution.
pH sensing bulbs lose sensitivity over time. Be sure to calibrate your PRO pH meter regularly to keep it accurate. Thank you for considering Milwaukee to help take your results to the next level.
