Features :

With their dimensions of 1.5" x 2.5", they are small, clear and discreet, and do not harm the view of your aquarium. Simply place Ammonia Alert® and pH Alert® visibly anywhere in the aquarium or filter. It's as simple as that. No chemicals or testing procedures are needed.

Ammonia alert

The Ammonia Alert® sensor switches reversibly from yellow to green to blue, depending on the ammonia concentration. It detects less than 0.05 mg/L (ppm) of free ammonia and alerts you to killer #1 before any signs of stress. The presence of free ammonia is continuously detectable with a response time of approximately 15 minutes. The response to decreasing ammonia is slower, it takes approximately 4 hours to go from TOXIC to SAFE when removing ammonia. Use at sea or in fresh water.

Interview

No maintenance is required other than removing algae with a clean, soft material. Avoid touching the sensor with your fingers, as skin oils can damage it. Do not use bleach, soap, detergents or harsh objects to clean the sensor. Some dye medications can discolor the sensor. Sensitivity improves with age, provided the device is not allowed to dry out; however, drying does not permanently alter the device. For maximum sensitivity, the device should be read in natural daylight or a light that simulates daylight. A red-enhancing light minimizes green and blue tints, decreasing the apparent sensitivity of the device. The device's response can be checked by holding it briefly over the mouth of an ammonia bottle: the color should develop quickly.

pH Alert pH Alert®

is a unique color device designed to be placed in the aquarium or filter and continuously monitor the pH. A sensor changes color reversibly from yellow to orange to red, alerting you to changes in pH between 5.4 and 8.0. During the first commissioning, the response time of the pH Alert® will be approximately 30 minutes. Subsequently, the pH variations will be recorded in less than ten minutes. Use in fresh water only.

Sensor Replacement Sensor exhaustion is indicated by visible discoloration or washing out of the sensor color. Once the sensor is depleted, peel off the adhesive backing from the supplied replacement sensor and apply it to the pH Alert®. Avoid touching the sensor with your fingers, as skin oils can damage it. It is recommended to use tweezers if possible.
