Acid Buffer™ is a phosphate-free buffer for lowering pH and buffering with Alkaline Buffer™. Both of these pads are for the planted aquarium or for very hard water where a phosphate pad can cause algae growth or cloudy water. Converts alkalinity (KH) into CO2

DIRECTIONS: To lower pH, use 1/4 teaspoon (2 g) for every 80 L each day until desired pH is reached (this dose reduces alkalinity by approximately 0.2 meq/L (0.6 dkH)). Higher doses may be required for extremely hard or high alkalinity waters. To gradually adjust the pH, or if the water is soft or its acidity is not sufficiently controlled, use Acid Buffer™ with Alkaline Buffer™.
