Phos-Start 75g contains natural marine biopolymers as bacterial food to stimulate the microbiome in the start-up phase of the new marine aquarium. It is based on the nutrient delivery mechanisms observed in the natural coral reef environment.
Tropic Marin ® Phos-Start is based on the nutrient delivery mechanisms observed in the natural coral reef environment. The particulate and insoluble excretions of fish or plankton feed the corals with phosphate and all other necessary substances responsible for intact microbiology, strong coral growth and magnificent colors. Tropic Marin ® has applied this knowledge in a completely new product for the start-up of reef aquariums.
Tropic Marin ® Phos-Start can be used to start all types of marine aquariums but is particularly suitable for starting reef aquariums using fully dry rock or ceramic reefs and for bare bottom reef aquariums or “bare bottom”. These aquariums have a low supply of organic bacterial food and nutrients to stimulate the growth of bacteria and coralline algae. Tropic Marin ® Phos-Start will fill the nutrient and mineral supply gap in these aquariums and promote good growth of coralline algae. It also prepares the aquarium to support and stimulate corals, including the most sensitive SPS corals.
The microbiome is nourished with vital particulate phosphate as well as bacterial food, calcium and trace elements in the form of fine particles. Nutrients are dosed in a targeted manner, which prevents any unwanted increase in nutrients in the water column. Later, in the young aquarium, these particles can be easily filtered through the water and used by the corals, resulting in more coral growth with natural shapes, skeletal structure and vivid colors, just like in a coral reef. blooming corals in natural conditions.
Very broad spectrum of action, optimal dosage control and maximum effectiveness thanks to the use of insoluble particulate ingredients. Inspired by the best natural organic principles.
Advantages :
For use in the first 2-3 months during the initial cycling phase and in the young aquarium.
Tropic Marin ® Phos-Start contains natural marine biopolymers as bacterial food to stimulate the microbiome in the start-up phase of the new marine aquarium.
Calcium and trace elements stimulate and promote the growth of coralline algae.
Trace elements of the halogen family - fluoride and bromide - replace the elements consumed by the increased growth rate of coralline algae and corals.
Recent studies show that the insoluble and particulate forms of these compounds are much more effective for the growth, coloration and maintenance of coralline algae and corals than the soluble liquid forms.
Tropic Marin ® Phos-Start and Tropic Marin ® Phos-Feed are the first products to provide phosphate minerals in insoluble particle form for reef aquariums, in this naturally targeted form.
Application: For use in the first 2-3 months during the initial cycling phase and in the young aquarium. Tropic Marin ® Phos-Start can be added at any time of the day or night. As the application slightly clouds the water and to take advantage of the nocturnal opening of the coral polyps, Tropic Marin ® Phos-Start should preferably be dosed when the light is off. The temporary turbidity that forms is normal. The water is particularly clean after the turbidity is eliminated.
Half fill a container with approximately 200ml of reef aquarium water (reverse osmosis water is not suitable!) and add the calculated amount of Tropic Marin ® Phos-Start. Mix powder and water and shake well. Pour the suspension into the aquarium stream and rinse the beaker with aquarium water.
Dosage: Start with a daily dosage of 1 ml (small measuring spoon) of Tropic Marin ® Phos-Start per 400 l of aquarium water. If, after four weeks, a phosphate concentration between 0.05 ppm and 0.15 ppm is not reached in the aquarium, double the dosage to 2 ml (large measuring spoon) for 400 l.
We recommend not to exceed a maximum dosage of 4 ml for 400 l
Note: A temporary increase in algae growth is normal during the start-up phase of marine aquariums. This shouldn't be a problem. An initial temporary brownish discoloration of corals is a sign of desired nutrient regulation in the aquarium and should also not be a cause for concern.
