AQUA MEDIC - Plankton light reactor 2 - Reactor for phytoplankton

In the plankton light reactor II, microalgae are cultivated with light, fertilizer and the carbon dioxide content of the air. These can be fed directly to many filter-feeding animals or used for culturing zooplankton. The built-in 10 W LED light provides sufficient light and guarantees a good reproduction rate. If the nutrient content is sufficient, the mass of algae can quadruple in 24 hours.

The plankton light reactor II is equipped with two connections for the simultaneous supply of air and CO2. The CO2 content can be increased depending on the pH in case of high plankton requirements. The lid has a housing for a pH probe. In case of normal needs, however, it is not necessary to add additional CO2. To facilitate the partial sampling of plankton, a hose with a dosing clamp and a holder is located on the lid of the housing. It is possible to cultivate sea or fresh water algae, phytoplankton and zooplankton.

For aeration, we recommend our Mistral 100 air pump or more powerful models.
