After decades of research, hatcheries and universities around the world have agreed on the best algae for filter feeders. At the top of the list are Isochrysis, Tetraselmis, Pavlova and Nannochloropsis. While each provides certain benefits, none alone can provide a complete regimen. Brown algae, in particular, are particularly critical for your filter feeders because, in addition to sterols and pigments, they are the only algae that produce the fatty acid DHA (necessary for complete omega-3 nutrition). Phyto-Feast is the only live algae concentrate that contains 100% of the nutrition your animals need: proteins, carbohydrates, vitamins and essential fatty acids.
Instructions :
Shake the bottle several times before opening it. Larger algae such as Tetraselmis tend to settle to the bottom.
If you have never used Phyto-Feast before, start with 1 teaspoon per 380 liters . Your animals will quickly get used to the phytoplankton and will be able to feed a little more.
If your animals don't "clean" the water in less than an hour - reconsider the amount you add because your system is not fully digesting all the microalgae.
A maximum dosage for a mature system 1 to 5 teaspoons per 380 liters each day, depending on your installation and its population.
Usage tips :
We recommend that you turn off your skimmer before adding the algae (about 2 hours)
Conservation :
Phyto-Feast should be stored in your refrigerator . The best place to store seaweed is on the bottom shelf because it's the coldest place in your refrigerator. The worst place to store it is the refrigerator door which may not be cold enough. Do not store Phyto-Feast in your freezer as freezing will break down many algae cells.
