Carbon (carbon dioxide) is the most important nutrient for aquarium plants. About 40% of the plant dry matter is made up of it, which is however rare in the aquarium. The result: poor plant growth. All plants, from mosses to echinodorans and cryptocorynes to fast-growing stem plants, grow fuller and stronger. The leaves become noticeably larger and more colorful. How Carbo Care Pro works
The basis of plant metabolism is photosynthesis. In this biochemical process, solar energy is "captured" and stored in energy-rich carbon compounds. One such energy-rich compound is sugar. These compounds are used by the plant (a) as a universal source of energy or (b) to produce other compounds. To stay with the example of sugar: the plant can "re-burn" the sugar in its cells and use the energy released to drive other metabolic processes. Or it can turn sugar into cellulose, for example. Cellulose, also known as wood pulp, is the substance that gives trees their strength and consists of nothing but long chains of sugar. How can the plant convert substances into each other? The central core of plant metabolism is the so-called citric acid cycle. The citric acid cycle is like a factory. Here, a wide variety of substances are introduced in order to produce the required substances. With the help of this metabolic pathway, the plant can itself produce all the vital carbon compounds: carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, vitamins, secondary plant substances, etc. Carbo Care Pro comes into play. The product contains selected active ingredients that are also found in plant metabolism in this or a similar form. The active principles are taken up by the plant and used in the cells as building material for the construction of higher compounds or as a source of energy. Ingredient Information Glutaraldehyde
Carbo Care Pro is harmless to all fish, plants, shrimp, snails, filter bacteria and other aquarium inhabitants when correctly dosed and applied, even with continuous use. The product had to pass a long-term practical test in different aquariums and under different conditions. User safety is a very high priority at Dennerle . The old rule also applies to the active ingredient glutaraldehyde: the dose makes the poison. Glutaraldehyde in concentrated form is a dangerous substance. At a dosage of 3 ml per 100 L of aquarium water, the active substance is diluted by a factor of 33,000. This application concentration is sufficient to significantly promote plant growth, but it is so low that the inhabitants of the aquarium cannot be adversely affected. Additionally, glutaraldehyde is readily biodegradable at the application concentration used herein. 2 , which in turn benefits plants and water. Even with continued use, there is no buildup of glutaraldehyde in the aquarium. A safety buffer is integrated into the assay. Even an accidental double dose will not lead to negative effects.
