Why use Radion G6?

The G6 builds on the success of the current Radion platform with significant improvements in light output and color. The all-new Radion features a new LED cluster and edge-lit hemispherical hybrid optics that take the Radion's capabilities from high-end to jaw-dropping.

In the aquarium, enjoy richer colors, bring out more fluorescence, and create the ultimate balance of crisp and actinic. Since its inception, Radion has set the standard for full spectrum LED aquarium lighting. G6 pushes the boundaries of color rendering and fluorescence without sacrificing proven flexibility to meet user needs.

With the addition of a 395nm diode, the G6 pushes further into the UV range, reaching new levels of coral and fish fluorescence. The Blue and Pro models also feature color channel rebalancing and LED (diode) mixing to add the most flexible and balanced spectrum available in aquarium lighting.

What are the features of G6

395 nm: Releases additional fluorescence in fish and corals.

400-450nm: Rebalances the cluster with more blue and deep blue, increasing fluorescence, color reproduction and providing new levels of tuning in the blue spectrum between sharp and actinic.

460-580nm: Lower mid-range spectral output maintains pigmented color performance while allowing more power for more photosynthetically and aesthetically useful output.

665 nm: Appropriate use of long wavelength diodes provides useful light output for coral photosynthesis and visual color balance.

HEI2 optical system

Radion G6 increases output from an impressive 110.5 degrees of the G5 to 126.3 degrees. This improvement is achieved by modifying the primary optics of the LED and then integrating it with the geometry of the existing HEI (hemispherical edge illumination) secondary optics (lenses).

Radion is the winner of the cost versus production equation. The HEI2 optical system provides 126.3 degrees of output. The result is incredibly uniform PAR over a coverage area of nearly 4 feet, making it the Radion with the highest average output and possibly the most efficient aquarium light ever built.
