Copepods are a type of zooplankton made up of tiny crustaceans. They are considered the greatest bio-resource in the world. Most aquatic species are dependent on copepods for some part of their life cycle. Copepods are eaten by fish, larval fish, corals, jellyfish, shrimp, filter feeding animals and many other species.
Ocean Prime copepods have a nutrient profile that meets the requirements of fish, crustaceans, invertebrates and corals. Typical fat content is 10-15%, and protein content around 50% by dry weight. Lipids are rich in essential fatty acids like DHA and phospholipid-bound EPA and also contain high levels of pigments like astaxanthin.

Ocean Prime is available in 500-700 micron and 2mm copepods. Each sachet contains 50 grams of copepods.
After opening:
As long as the foil pouch is closed, you can store the copepods at room temperature for up to 3 years. Once opened, you should treat the contents as a fresh product. Use only clean tools (eg a spoon) and try to avoid cross-contamination. Close the pouch with an elastic band or clamp to keep bacteria and oxygen out and place the pouch in the refrigerator. Use the copepods within 1-3 weeks.
For small tanks or to avoid fishy smells in the refrigerator, it is best to store copepods in the freezer. Empty the pouch make a bar or portions of the copepods and put it in the freezer. Use copepods within 3 months.
Feed as much as your aquarium will consume in 3-5min.

The product is sterile and does not contain any bacteria. The shelf life of an unopened package is 3 years at room temperature, but may have good quality beyond this date (best before date is printed on the package). An opened package must be refrigerated and can be stored in the refrigerator for several days. It can also be frozen and kept frozen for up to 3 months.
