These bacteria actively participate in the degradation of organic waste and the regulation of nitrate levels in the water. This dual action , biological and mechanical, guarantees clear and healthy water for your fish and other marine inhabitants.

Ease of use and maintenance

Replacing the pre-filter foam in your Aquael HyperMax 4500 is a breeze. Simply remove the old foam and replace it with the new one, with no hassle. To maximize the effectiveness of your foam, we recommend soaking it in your aquarium water for 24 hours before installation . This allows bacteria to begin to settle, ensuring a faster and more efficient transition to biological filtration. Once in place, the foam should be changed every 4-6 weeks or as soon as it begins to deform, to ensure optimal filtering power .

Maintenance tips and advice

To maintain the efficiency of your filtration system, remember to clean your filter every 1 to 2 weeks . Simply rinse the foams with clean water, without using chemicals, and do not squeeze them too much. This simple action removes stuck waste and maintains efficient filtration without disturbing the balance of the aquarium. You can also add aquatic plants , which naturally contribute to filtration by absorbing nitrates and improving water quality.
