Active carbon filter with a high level of performance - especially after treatment with medication

EHEIM AKTIV is acid washed and activated for automatic water absorption (active area 1200 m²/g). Thus, it very quickly binds harmful chemicals such as pesticides, residues of medical treatment and other substances and retains them. The water in the aquarium will become crystal clear. Its use is especially important after the treatment of livestock with drugs.

EHEIM AKTIV should only be used for a limited time (approximately 4 weeks) and then removed or replaced.

In the filter stratification configuration, EHEIM AKTIV should be used directly after the mechanical media (eg EHEIM MECH or MECHpro) and the biological filter media (eg EHEIM SUBSTRATpro) in the supplied mesh bag.

Important :

Only use adsorbent filter media for a few weeks, because the harmful substances are only stuck and can come off after a while and be reintroduced into the water. It should be changed regularly. Normally, adsorption filtration is only needed during aquarium set-up or after treatments with medications.
