Optimized biofilter media with perfect volume utilization, long intervals between cleaning performance and superior decomposition.

SUBSTRATpro consists of beaded sintered glass. The spherical shape gives a very high density. Thus, the entire volume in the filter (filter baskets or modules) can be used. In addition, the optimal bead surface provides intensive colonization of important purification bacteria.
Due to the high bacteria count, maximum nitrite loads are more easily reduced and the maintenance intervals of the filter material are longer.
EHEIM SUBSTRATpro is suitable for fresh and marine water, is washable and can be reused.

Important :
Never clean and change all filter elements in one operation (and never clean too thoroughly). Bacteria cultures must not be completely destroyed or recolonization will be delayed. The filter baskets in the external filters and the filter modules in the aquaball and biopower internal filters are ideal for partial cleaning.
