Plants provide the aquarium with oxygen, which is of vital importance for its inhabitants, they prevent the appearance of algae and eliminate problematic substances. The JBL fertilization system supplies plants with CO2, their main nutrient, via water. Plants absorb it and, with the help of light, convert it into sugar and oxygen during photosynthesis.

Easy installation

Screw the regulator onto the CO2 cylinder (also adapts to disposable cylinders / JBL U-system by unscrewing the connection nut) and connect it through the pipe with the bubble counter (with non-return), then with the reactor in the aquarium. The CO2 thus arrives in the aquarium and dissolves in the water using the reactor. The solenoid valve is driven by the CO2 controller and only adds CO2 when the pH is too high (pH depends on CO2). In this way, there is always the ideal amount of CO2 in the water.

Security

The bottle is approved (TÜV). Thanks to the non-return valve, water cannot enter the bottle. The autonomy of a CO₂ system depends on several factors. The essential elements are the carbonate hardness, the amount and type of plants and the strength of the surface water movement. A 500 g bottle which is not interrupted at night by a solenoid valve lasts approximately 4 months with the basic adjustment. Multi-use bottles can be refilled at specialist retailers.

Conversion from disposable cylinders to refillable cylinders and vice versa: all JBL CO2 cylinder systems are compatible with each other. In the refillable system (System M), it is sufficient to unscrew the union nut of the regulator using an Allen key. The regulator is then adapted to the U system (single-use cylinders).
