PRODIBIO - Procalcium - 500 g - Calcium for marine aquarium

Calcium consumption is dependent on tank population, lighting and the availability of all trace elements. Procalcium is preferably used diluted in reverse osmosis or demineralised water. Attention the dissolution reaction produces a strong heat! The addition of 10 g of Procalcium in 100 L of water corresponds to an increase in the calcium concentration of 36 mg/L.

Calcium is the major element in the construction of the skeleton of corals. Naturally present in seawater in dissolved ionic form, it is partly used by corals, but also benefits other invertebrates for the construction of their shells, as well as certain calcifying algae. This consumption of calcium by the fauna and flora of the aquarium must be compensated by a constant and regular supply which takes place during water changes with a quality salt, as well as by the addition of calcium in liquid form. . The use of a limestone reactor is also very effective. Maintaining a rate close to the natural environment, i.e. 400/450 mg/L, is sufficient, avoid going above 550 mg/L, at the risk of precipitating calcium carbonate which will remain insoluble at alkaline pH.
