Flourish Iron™ is an iron gluconate supplement in the ferrous state (Fe+2) that is highly concentrated. It should be used in cases where the need for iron exceeds what can be delivered naturally.
Plants can take advantage of iron from Flourish Iron™ much more easily than from EDTA sources because all of the iron in EDTA is in the ferric (Fe+3) state. Since plants require iron in the ferrous state, more physiological energy must be expended to extract ferric iron from EDTA and then convert it to the ferrous state.
DIRECTIONS: Use 1 capful (5 mL) per 200 L of water supplied to maintain approximately 0.1 mg/L of iron. Each flute is approximately 1 mL.
