JBL - ProAquaTest Ca - Testing the calcium content of seawater

Healthy pond or aquarium and living conditions close to nature

The correct water parameters in the aquarium/pond depend on the fish population and the plants present. Even if the water looks clear, it can be polluted. If the parameters are wrong, diseases or algae can develop in the aquarium or pond. To have a healthy pond or aquarium with conditions close to the natural environment, it is important to regularly check and adapt the water parameters.

For every water analysis, JBL offers quick tests or color tests. These tests calculate a specific parameter or several parameters at the same time. They identify algae problems and negative parameters of nitrates, nitrites, potassium, magnesium, etc.

Why test?

Calcium is used for the development of the skeleton of corals. Too low a calcium level in the marine aquarium disrupts the growth of corals and the vital functions of other invertebrates (even fish!).

Recommended Calcium Parameters

In freshwater aquarium (community aquarium): calcium is one of the elements of total hardness and much less present quantitatively than in seawater. The test therefore does not display any in freshwater.
