Why a gyre generator rather than a circulation pump?

Deepwaterwave2.gif

Circulating pumps are great for making waves. This wave motion is spectacular to see but it moves the majority of the water vertically in the aquarium, while horizontal motion is relatively small, especially near the bottom of the tank. aquarium, as shown in the diagram opposite.

While gyre generators excel at moving water from one side of the aquarium to the other. The current produced in this way is strong enough for the water to reach the other side, thus creating a continuous circulation in the aquarium, ie a gyre flow.

PROPELLER TECHNOLOGY

Proptech.JPG

Nozzle.JPG

A. Dead zone with relatively low water movement.

B. Very strong current in the center, which makes placement of corals very difficult

C. Very weak current at the other end of the aquarium.

CROSS-FLOW TECHNOLOGY

Crosstech.JPG

Crossflow.JPG

A. Virtually no dead zone.

B. Flux distributed evenly throughout the aquarium

C. Water flows to the other side to create full circulation, i.e. producing a Gyre-Flow

OPTIMAL BREWING

The current generated by the Maxspect Gyre is ideal for most corals.
Thanks to its cross-flow technology, it allows a uniform distribution of the flow thus avoiding dead zones in the aquarium.
It allows flow adjustment in 2 different directions at the same time

The Maxspect Gyre also allows flow reversal.

Product development

The controller changes and has many more functions, allowing to control 2 Gyre pumps at the same time!
The pumps remain the same.

2 PRESET MODES ARE ALSO OFFERED WITH THE NEW CONTROLLER

Preset 1 – The Lunar Tidal Cycle (LTC)

The Lunar Tidal Cycle (LTC) is a 24-hour cycle that mimics the current during high and low ocean tides.

Preset 2 – The Oceanic Gyre Cycle (OGC)

The Oceanic Gyre Cycle (OGC) is a 24 hour cycle that creates an alternating and gentle Gyre circulation within the aquarium.
