Biodegradable runoff elements for the effective reduction of nitrate and phosphate levels
NP-BACTO-TRICKS are trickling elements to effectively reduce nitrate and phosphate levels in aquariums. NP-BACTO-TRICKS are made of a mixture of natural polymers from renewable resources, biodegradable by bacteria and other microorganisms. During their growth, these polymers absorb the nitrates and phosphates contained in the water and thus form a valuable biomass that can serve as a nutrient base for filter-feeding fish or be removed by skimming.
For the use of NP-BACTO-TRICKS, Tropic Marin ® has developed an aerated bioreactor, the Tropic Marin ® BIO-ACTIF REACTOR 5000 which guarantees an optimal supply of oxygen to lower the concentrations of nutrient substances.

NP-BACTO-TRICKS are designed for use in aerated bioreactors. For the use of NP-BACTO-TRICKS, Tropic Marin ® has developed an aerated bioreactor, the Tropic Marin ® BIO-ACTIF REACTOR 5000 which guarantees an optimal supply of oxygen to lower the concentrations of nutritive substances.
You should start with 100 ml of NP-BACTO-TRICKS per 100 l of aquarium content. If necessary, double the quantity of NP-BACTO-TRICKS after 4 weeks. It is advisable not to exceed the maximum quantity of 400 ml per 100 l of water. Vigorous skimming promotes the removal of excess biomass and thus nitrites and phosphates from the aquarium circuit. It is advisable to place the drain of the aerated bioreactor near the inlet of the skimmer.
In the event of blockage of the NP-BACTO-TRICKS during the degradation process or in the event of the addition of colloidal particles from the aquarium, the NP-BACTO-TRICKS can be washed with water from the aquarium in a plastic container and put back in the filter without packing them down. We advise you to readjust the level of material used according to the quantity consumed.
