Nitrate FX Instructions for Use
Use fresh to safely reduce nitrates and promote water clarity.
Before first use, rinse each resin bag with a steady stream of cool water (preferably reverse osmosis water) of about 4 to 5 cups; discard the water when finished.
250ml of Nitrate Fx will remove 10ppm of nitrate from 470 litres of water and 500ml will remove 10ppm of nitrate from 950 litres of water. Removal is directly related to the contact time of the resin with the water; maximising the contact time with the water will remove more nitrates and contribute to the overall water quality of the aquarium.
For best results, resins should be used inside a reactor or pressurized cartridge. Nitrate Fx is regenerable multiple times, making it a cost-effective way to reduce nitrates in freshwater aquariums.
Nitrate FX Regeneration Instructions
- Dissolve 1 Blue Life USA regeneration kit in 2 liters of room temperature water for 250 ml of resin to be regenerated in a clean bucket
- Place the resin in the bucket and stir
- Soak Nitrate Fx for at least 1 hour (for best results, soak overnight), shaking bags frequently
- Remove from regeneration solution and rinse thoroughly with fresh water before reuse.
Do not regenerate with bleach, this will permanently damage the adsorption resin and could kill aquarium inhabitants.
Caution: Resin is sold wet. Keep container closed to prevent drying. Weight will vary based on moisture content, product is sold by volume rather than weight. DO NOT LET RESIN DRY OUT!
