Questions / Réponses

How to feed fish when you go on vacation?

There are food dispensers that allow you to program the times and quantity of food, so you can go on vacation with peace of mind.
Discover our selection of distributors here: https://www.zoanthus.fr/en/195-feeding-accessories

When to give food to a goldfish?

It is better to feed your fish twice a day in small quantities, rather than once in large quantities. You can feed it by hand, or using a dispenser, for more careful distribution: https://www.zoanthus.fr/en/195-feeding-accessories

How often should you feed your fish?

Like us humans, fish need to be fed every day. The best is to divide their meal into two parts, giving them a small quantity, so that they eat their meal peacefully. It's up to you to decide the time, as a rule, it is morning and evening. If there is nothing left, you have given the right quantity, otherwise, use a net to remove the remains and avoid deposits.

What food to give to fish?

There is a wide variety of foods: in flakes, granules, sticks, tablets... which will depend on the criteria of your fish and especially on their type (carnivore, homivore, crustaceans...).

What food for my guppy?

With his small mouth, it is best to give him chips, flakes or glitter. The guppy is a fish that will ask you to vary its food a little, so don't hesitate to give it treats, such as live food (artemia and larvae).

What diet for my groundfish?

Bottom fish like to search the aquarium for leftover food. However, this diet is not sufficient and it should be supplemented with krill, chips, tablets, etc.

Feeding your fish is a point that should not be neglected . A rich and varied diet is very important for the good health of your little residents as well as for all the inhabitants of your tank .
In addition to pellets and other dry foods , which sometimes lack palatability, fish appreciate live brine shrimp and herbivores do not turn their noses up at a leaf of lettuce. Depending on their diet , it is not out of the question to occasionally bring them a mussel or fresh shellfish .
Be sure to control the quantities and quality of food given to your fish. Indeed, an excess of food risks polluting the water and unbalancing the stability of the parameters of your aquarium. The ideal is to feed the fish often, but in small quantities . We advise you to test, once a week, the nitrates and phosphates to check the pollution of the water.

What food for my fish?

Depending on your fish species, the food can be specific . There are vegetarian, carnivorous and omnivorous fish . Although many fish foods are "generic" and provide pellets or flakes that include both plants and organic matter, it is important to be well informed about the nutritional needs of fish .
Whether you have discus, guppies or neons, your fish food choices will no longer be the same . Therefore, you can choose a specific food for a species like betta, or more complex foods for community tanks with a variety of tropical fish.
